NC Land Trust, Topsail Island South Shore, 2026​

Shifting Sands is an outdoor sculpture installation on the now preserved for perpetuity Topsail Island South Shore. This all metal, life size, kinetic piece is scaled to represent the natural elements that make up the island and are now preserved.

Shifting Sands may also be experienced anywhere in the world through Augmented Reality on the scnry app. Using a smartphone or tablet, viewers can download the app and use the link to place the sculpture in their current environment. They can also walk around the object and observe it up close, eliminating geographical constraints to experiencing this sculpture through digital means.
